Kankakee Valley Adult Reading and Literacy Program

The objective of the new Kankakee Valley Adult Reading and Literacy Program is to provide a broader range of tutoring with more accessibility for under-educated adults. We will specialize in one-on-one tutoring and will work in a non-threatening environment to interview prospective students as well as volunteer tutors. The one-on-one tutoring is a free service with materials provided.

We anticipate high activity due to vigorous advertising and recruiting for both tutors and students and we are also anticipating grants and fund raisers to pay salaries, supplies, utilities and expenses.

Trainings have been held with 75 tutors participating...many of whom have been placed with students.
